Sicyon: art, history and terroir

In Antiquity, Apollodorus placed the finest olive oils of the Greek world in Sicyon. The Patrinia variety originates from the region, from the time when the city was called Aigialee. Gastronomy and local products were renowned there. Prometheus made the first sacrifice to the gods there. Callirrhoe invented drawing there and her father Boutades invented sculpture.

The inspiration for our bottles comes from the world of the old apothecary, vials lined up on wooden shelves. The name ΑΠΟΘΗΚΗ - warehouse in Greek - recalls the old warehouses of Kiato where the famous Corinth raisins were stored. Today, our opaque glass bottles ensure optimal preservation of this φάρμακο (pharmako), this essential remedy of the Mediterranean diet. The olive wood and cork stopper adds an organic substance to the bottle.
